Product Update | 4 minute read

The next simPRO update rolls out from July 26 with a big focus on boosting simPRO's asset maintenance features.

The release includes:

  • Updates to Nested Assets for Maintenance Planner to streamline asset maintenance
  • Form Builder enhancements: Assets fields on forms & invoice descriptions with assets
  • Tradelink and Mico automatic product pricing and invoice syncing

But first, an update on the release of the Service module for simPRO Mobile.

The simPRO Mobile Service module is now on iOS and Android

The simPRO Mobile Service module is now on iOS and Android

The simPRO Mobile Service module rolled out to Android users earlier this month. And now, iOS users can enjoy the enhanced mobile app.

The addition of the Service module means you can now switch your field technician’s scheduling and job management workflows over to the simPRO Mobile app. Just like the Timesheet and Quote and Sales modules, the Service module is included in a simPRO Mobile licence.

Extra features will be added to simPRO Mobile in the coming months. And we will also be running a series of webinars to show you what simPRO Mobile has to offer. Click here to make sure you are opted in to receive our email updates!

In the meantime new learning materials are available through simPRO Learning to help your team make the switch.

Nested Assets for Maintenance Planner

Improvements to the Maintenance Planner’s Nested Asset functions are now available to streamline asset maintenance. The Maintenance Planner add-on is ideal for anyone planning and scheduling high volumes of asset-driven jobs with multiple service levels.

Nested assets group physical assets together in parent-child asset relationships. For example, a lift could be set as the parent asset. And all the sub-assets for the lift, such as lights and cables, set as child assets.

Many of these child assets will need to be serviced at the same time as the parent. And the improvements to Nested Assets will help you to manage their service levels and schedule asset maintenance work.

A key advantage of the update is the option for child assets to inherit the service level of the parent asset. With a simple tick box, you can choose, individually or in bulk, which child assets to link in this way. Once the option is ticked, any service level changes made to the parent will automatically apply to the child asset. To prevent accidental changes, the service level on these child assets can’t be directly edited.

The Nested Assets update also makes it easier for users to schedule work in Maintenance Planner. Child assets inheriting a parent’s service level will not be displayed as they share the same service requirements. This creates a cleaner, less complicated view. The resulting job will still show all child and parent assets that need testing, so nothing is missed by the technician.

Another time saver is the ability to import and export lists of Nested Assets. A new field allows you include whether the child asset inherits the parent asset’s service level.

There are many safeguards around Nested Assets, such as warnings to users when merging, deleting, copying or archiving assets that might impact the Nested Asset structure.

Comprehensive learning materials are available for Maintenance Planner to guide you in setting up and working with Nested Assets.

Expanding Form Builder’s functionality

Form Builder is our free tool for building customised form and document templates in simPRO. New additions in this release build on the growing functionality of the tool which was first released in 2018, especially if your company is using simPRO’s Assets features.

Greater support for Assets

You will now be able to customise your forms to take into account your asset services. You can add asset fields to quote and invoice form templates, and a new Description Invoice with Assets is also available.

Updating Email Recipients

There’s also updates for when it comes time to send your forms. If you need to change the email recipients, you can clear the list with the click of a button, instead of deleting them individually.

Tradelink and Mico product pricing and invoice syncing

Tradelink and Mico auto sync to simPRO

Tradelink and Mico have joined the growing list of suppliers integrated for automatic product pricing and invoice syncing with the simPRO system.

This will remove the need for manual data inputting, saving plumbing customers time and increasing accuracy.

What else is new in simPRO?

With every release, there are slight improvements in addition to the main features. But they do offer a number of benefits to simPRO users.
