Verizon Connect Work, formerly Fleetmatics Work, is being retired for field service teams that use it for scheduling, dispatch, invoicing, job records, and mobile technician workflows. Active service is scheduled to end on 31 December 2026, so affected businesses should export data, compare field service management software, and plan the migration before Work becomes read-only.
If your technicians' day runs through Verizon Connect's Work app (the product long-time customers may still know as Fleetmatics Work or Connect to Field), there's a hard deadline you need on your radar. Verizon Connect has confirmed the technical retirement of Work, and it isn't a feature deprecation or a rebrand. The underlying Azure infrastructure that has run the platform for more than a decade is being switched off entirely.
Here's the timeline as Verizon Connect has published it:

What is affected by the Verizon Connect Work sunset?
This sunset is strictly scoped to Verizon Connect Work—the scheduling, dispatch, invoicing, job record, and mobile technician workflow layer. It does not mean every Verizon Connect fleet or GPS tracking workflow is being retired. Verizon Connect Reveal and telematics should be treated as separate from the Work sunset.
Note on International Telematics: Geotab acquired Verizon Connect's international telematics commercial operations on 1 October 2025.
The sunset was officially announced on 1 July 2026, alongside a self-service data export tool. Active service (scheduling, dispatch, invoicing, mobile technician sync) reaches its end on 31 December 2026. From there, the historical data environment stays in a read-only state until 31 March 2027, after which the hosting environment is dismantled entirely. Past that date, historical job logs, customer records, signatures and media attachments are gone for good, with no path to recovery.
One distinction matters here, and it's easy to miss: this sunset is scoped to the Work app specifically: the job dispatch and scheduling layer. It does not affect Verizon Connect's GPS/telematics product, Reveal. Following an international divestiture that took effect on 1 October 2025, Reveal accounts, billing and support now sit with Geotab. So if your business used Verizon Connect purely for vehicle tracking, that side of things has already moved and keeps running.
But if Work was actually running your technicians' day (building the schedule, dispatching jobs, capturing signatures on site, turning completed jobs into invoices), that's the piece with no replacement on offer. Verizon Connect isn't proposing a successor product for it. You're expected to find one.
That's the situation a lot of mobile field service businesses are quietly sitting in right now: perfectly good vehicle tracking on one vendor, and a job management system with a countdown clock on the other. Handled badly, that turns into two unrelated systems that don't talk to each other: tracking data in one login, jobs and invoices in another, and a manual reconciliation job in between.
It doesn't have to end up that way. Simpro can support field service management software workflows Work users need to replace, including scheduling, dispatch, quoting, on-site invoicing, job records, and field technician updates. For the job workflow layer, review Simpro's job management software page. For fleet visibility, Simtrac supports GPS fleet tracking alongside field service operations.
| Need | FSM replacement priority | Simpro page to review |
|---|---|---|
| Scheduling, dispatch, mobile workflow, invoicing, and job records | Field service management software workflow fit | Job management software |
| Fleet visibility and dispatch context | GPS fleet tracking as supporting context | Simtrac |
For a business currently untangling itself from Work, that means one migration instead of two, and one platform going forward instead of a tracking tool and a job-management tool that were never designed to work together.
The window to act is shorter than it looks. Data migrated and exported well before 31 March 2027 is safe. Data still sitting in Work after 1 April 2027 is not. If your team is still running dispatch, scheduling or invoicing through Verizon Connect Work, now is the point to start planning the move, not December.
We're running a short session walking through exactly what's changing, what it means for a business like yours, and how Simpro + Simtrac cover the job management and fleet tracking side as one platform.
How to plan a Verizon Connect Work replacement
- Export Work data using Verizon's self-service export tool.
- Check that customer records, job history, signatures, photos, PDFs, and media attachments are included in the export.
- Map scheduling, dispatch, mobile sync, invoicing, job records, signatures, and media workflows before selecting replacement software.
- Decide whether fleet tracking and field service management workflows should stay connected or sit in separate tools.
- Trial the replacement workflow before active Work service ends on 31 December 2026.
- Complete final export and archive checks before the read-only period ends on 31 March 2027.

Frequently Aasked Questions
When does Verizon Connect Work shut down?
31 December 2026 is the active-service deadline for Verizon Connect Work scheduling, dispatch, invoicing, and mobile worker sync. Field service teams should treat that as the cutover date for day-to-day Work operations and complete replacement software testing before the deadline.
Is Verizon Connect Reveal affected?
No. Verizon's FAQ says Reveal vehicle tracking is separate from Work and is not affected by the Work sunset. Teams using Work for jobs and Reveal for GPS should review both workflows, but the replacement project should focus on the scheduling, dispatch, invoicing, and mobile technician layer.
What should replace Verizon Connect Work for field service teams?
Field service management software is the right replacement category when Work supports scheduling, dispatch, invoicing, job records, and technician workflows. Use job management requirements as a supporting checklist, then confirm the platform can handle field workflows, customer records, mobile updates, reporting, and any connected fleet visibility your team needs.
How do I switch from Verizon Connect Work without losing data?
Start with Verizon's export process, then verify the files before the read-only window ends. Check customer records, job history, signatures, photos, PDFs, and media attachments, and store a separate archive. After export, map each Work workflow to the replacement system before technicians switch tools.
Which Simpro pages should Work users review first?
Review field service management software needs first, then map the job workflow and fleet visibility pieces. Simpro's job management software page is the best fit for scheduling, dispatch, quoting, invoicing, and job records. If fleet visibility matters, review Simtrac for GPS fleet tracking context.
