Simpro is excited to announce a brand new partnership with social enterprise TradeMutt. Famous for creating their ‘conversation-starting’ workwear for tradespeople, TradeMutt is an organization trying to make the invisible issue of mental health impossible to ignore.
With suicide and mental health issues dramatically over represented among male dominated industries, like field service management and construction, at Simpro we believe now is the perfect time to support the field service industry with resources that start the tough conversations and save lives.
Sharing great stories via the 120 Grit Podcast
Our initiative to join TradeMutt in starting the tough conversations around mental health begins with our sponsorship of their 120 Grit Podcast.
Hosted by former carpenters turned mental health advocates and founders of TradeMutt, Daniel Allen and Ed Ross, each episode features an in-depth interview with industry professionals to talk about their own journeys with mental health.
From everyday tradespeople to sport stars and experts in the field, they host a wide variety of guests who come on the show to share the challenges they've faced and the lessons they've learned from their lived experience.
Taking a light hearted (and authentically Australian) approach to these conversations, each podcast focuses on different areas of mental health including resilience, wellness, fitness and more, bringing life to real stories from real people about real issues.
Every other week you’ll be able to download and listen to Dan and Ed share real stories about tackling the tough conversations.
Driven by a passion for a better, safer workplace
After losing a close friend to suicide in 2016, Dan and Ed launched TradeMutt to start addressing the invisible issue of mental health in the trades by creating brightly colored workshirts with the slogan, ‘This is a conversation starter’ across the back.
This design is aimed at helping the withdrawn field service and trade service industries break down the barriers and start having real conversations about mental health.
And, as an added bonus, 5% of the proceeds from all shirts purchased goes to the This Is a Conversation Starter Foundation, TradeMutt’s very own charity devoted to supporting all people affected by mental health issues in the trade and field service industries.
Need more tools to start your own conversation?
As part of Simpro’s commitment to continuing the conversations around mental health, we will also be investing time and resources into creating useful tools for our customers and wider community.
In addition to a mental health focus we'll be emphasizing other ways that Simpro can support your business during these challenging times. Through a variety of blogs, webinars, checklists, training and Masterclasses, we are building out support resources that will help you and your team over the coming months.
