What to expect from remote software training with simPRO

16th Apr 2020

By UK Training Manager Alessandra Palma-Tilley

As the coronavirus outbreak has enacted social distancing measures and stay at home orders, many field service businesses now find their office staff are required to work remotely out of a home office. In order to support new and current customers, simPRO Implementation Consultants have transitioned to a remote training model.

Although simPRO software training is now conducted exclusively online, there are no changes to the quality or content of our implementation and training sessions. Whether you are an existing customer in need of assistance with certain features (like BI Reporting), would like to update your workflow to support current business needs during the COVID-19 outbreak, or are a new customer ready to implement simPRO, our Implementation Consultants are ready to help you succeed.

What to expect

Booking your training session and getting started:

Once you’ve booked your training, you will receive a link to an online training session. A few minutes before your session starts, your Implementation Consultant will join the session to make sure that everything is working correctly for the training.

It is helpful to make sure you have working speakers and a functioning microphone. A headset is also helpful to block out extra noise. We also provide options that allow you to join the training on a desktop or on a mobile device.

During the training session

You will be able to see and hear your Implementation Consultant via a screen share and the camera (if available). During the training, you are in the driver’s seat, and will also be able to share your screen when needed. You have control over the mouse and the keyboard, and you will be guided through the workflows for your business by your Implementation Consultant who will move at a pace that best suits you.

Completing remote training

After your session, your Implementation Consultant will send notes covering the completed session. You will also receive links to our simPRO Help Guide and Learning Toolbox courses that pertain to your needs. You will have 24/7 access to these resources so that you can learn and review at any time. If you have additional questions, you can contact your Implementation Consultant at any time.

The benefits of remote training

  1. Flexibility - our remote training is designed to cater to your unique needs. You can determine the length of training sessions and time between them so that you can continue to run your day-to-day business operations.
  2. Accessibility - wherever you are located, as long as you have internet access, we will be able to connect with you for training via the assigned online link. We recommend using a desktop or laptop for the best experience.
  3. Faster start time - remote training removes the time spent on travel meaning we can provide training sooner so you can get up and running faster.
  4. Better focus - sometimes, attempting to attend training while in your office can mean several interruptions and distractions. Our online training sessions are kept concise so you can keep your energy focused and learn productively.

The current lockdown is an opportunity to upskill staff and provide them with additional training. Furloughed staff may also be able to take part in training. For more details visit the government webpage on COVID-19 business guidance.

Tips and testimonials

Still not convinced that online training is right for you? There’s no need to take our word for it. Here’s what simPRO customers have said about our remote training:

“I found the online training beneficial as I could complete courses in shorter spells over a long time. This meant I could take time to learn on my own in between sessions. It was also nice to sit in front of a screen and not have to share a screen with someone else. simPRO’s online training made it easy to be guided through the tasks we were learning. It was overall a pleasant experience.” -- Mark Brear, EML Electrical Contractors Limited

“simPRO’s online training gave me greater flexibility. I booked sessions into the parts of my day that aren’t as busy meaning I could really focus and get the most out of my training with Lorna. An online meeting room and screen sharing works perfectly for learning simPRO and it is a much smarter way of working.” -- John Line, LDN Security Solutions Limited

“All of my questions were answered during the online training and there was lots of support after the training. All training came with links to resources to provide extra guidance where needed.” -- Sarah Amaddio, EML Electrical Contractors Limited
