Manage Reverse Charge VAT and open Jobs in Read Only mode

Welcome to your latest simPRO update. This release will be rolling out into your build from Sunday the 8th of March and includes the following features and improvements:

• Ability to manage Domestic Reverse Charge VAT (UK only)
• View Jobs and Quotes in Read Only while being edited by another
• Easily update labour rates for customers

Manage Reverse Charge VAT

UK Only

On the 1st of March 2021, the HMRC changed UK VAT legislation for VAT registered customers as well as VAT and CIS registered contractors. This means you may be required to manage VAT in simPRO differently.

Reverse Charge Tax in simPRO

To assist your business with these changes, our latest update includes the new Reverse Charge Tax feature that enables you to record and account for reverse charge VAT while remaining compliant with the change in legislation.

Apply reverse charge VAT

You can now create a reverse charge tax code and apply this to items and labour on a job or to contractor work orders. These will then display on the invoice or contractor invoice, ensuring everyone involved in the work remains compliant and aware of which party holds onto the VAT amount.

Using accounting software?

If your simPRO build is integrated into accounting software, it is important to ensure that your accounting package contains the relevant reverse charge tax codes and that they are mapped appropriately to those created in simPRO.

Open Jobs and Quotes Read Only mode

Sometimes you only need to view a Job or Quote without requiring access to edit. Following our latest update, if you only need to reference a quote or job, and not edit it, you can open in Read Only mode so that other users can have full access. This means everyone can access the job information they require, when they need it, without bothering those who are editing!

Keep customer labour rates up to date

We have made it even easier to manage customer labour rates by improving the way labour rates can be updated. Now you can select to only update labour rates for customers on standard rates. This enables you to update rates for customers who require the change, and avoid changing the rate for customers who are already on a non-standard rate.

What else is new in simPRO?

With every release, there are slight improvements in addition to the main features we’ve included above. You can read the outline of all the enhancements made in the dedicated release notes for 21.1.5 in our Help Guide. This will be available from Saturday the 6th of March 2021 AEST.
