simPRO Update: Stock Management Enhancements

Enhancements to simPRO stock import and management tools

Stock management can be time-consuming and frustrating, but it is a necessity in a field service or project environment. Strong stock control systems prevent unexpected stock shortages, losses, and oversupply issues that impact customer satisfaction and profitability.

With simPRO you can track, manage and monitor your materials with ease. And customer feedback in the Ideas Portal has again guided the ongoing development of simPRO’s stock management feature for efficient operations management.

Extra help to find the catalogue stock you need

Have you ever found yourself repeatedly searching a shelving rack for a part, only to realise you’ve been staring straight at it for the last 5 minutes? Frustrating!

A new “Stock” tab for catalogue items gives in-depth information on storage devices as well as a new Unique Storage Location field. The storage location will show on picking slips and Stock Take forms to provide clear guidance to staff on the exact spot a part can be found inside the storage device.

The tab also shows minimum and restock levels, plus how much of an item is in stock and on order.

Faster, stress-free stocktakes

In addition to the storage location being shown on stock take forms to direct staff to the right spot, they can quickly update stock counts by uploading a file to simPRO. The import option is based on an Ideas Portal suggestion that included several stocktake ideas that have been covered by previous updates.

At the start of a stocktake, your staff will be able to export a list of items in stock from the Stock Take page of a storage device*.

As staff work through their stocktake, they can update this csv file, or create their own csv, text or zip file with columns set up for

• Part no.,
• Item ID,
• Name, and
• Counted Stock.

Once complete simply import back into simPRO to update stock levels without any extra manual entry required.

*simPRO Glossary: a storage device is a physical location where you store stock such as a vehicle, warehouse or shed

Making it easier to understand the Labour Productivity Report

Productivity is an important factor in profitability. simPRO’s Labour Productivity Report can help you see how productive employee and contractor hours have been for the various areas in your business. It can also help service managers and human resources staff reconcile hours on quotes, jobs and leads.

And now, totals in the report are clearer so users can easily identify what is a sum total and which is an average total.
