The next simPRO update will ease the stress of tax compliance, especially in the USA where tax rate changes happen often. You can now visually see the hierarchy of parent/child assets in a tree view. And Australian data and electrical businesses will be able to start using the Cetnaj automatic catalogue and supplier invoice sync.
“Set and forget” tax rate updates
The major feature change this week will have immediate benefits to USA customers who deal with frequent changes to federal, state, county and city tax laws. If tax rates change in other countries in the future, the new feature will assist with maintaining tax compliance in those regions also.
The change provides simPRO customers with a “set and forget” option to update tax rates in advance, without having to contact simPRO support. Staff can specify a new tax rate and the date it starts instead of having to rely on reminders to update their simPRO codes on the day changes come in to effect. Changes will automatically update throughout the system, including on jobs and invoices, to ensure the company is tax compliant.
To further assist with meeting legal requirements, a sales tax report provides a breakdown of tax billed over a certain period, which can be used by the company accountant.
Tree view shows relationships between Assets
Following on from the recent changes to Nested Assets, you can now visually see vthe hierarchy of parent/child assets in a tree view.
The tree view opens in a new window and shows the site name, asset type, asset ID, the first 3 asset custom fields. A colour-coded legend clearly highlights child assets that are set up to inherit a parent asset’s service level.
A slider can be used to zoom in and out of the full asset tree. Or alternatively, you can choose to restrict the display to a selected branch of the tree view. You can also choose to hide all the assets that are listed under a specific asset from view.
Automating Cetnaj Catalogues and Supplier Invoices
Available within Australia only
Cetnaj has joined the list of suppliers supporting simPRO automatic synchronisation for catalogues and automatic imports for supplier invoices.
Cetnaj customers may already be familiar with an existing integration with simPRO that included a manual CSV import that was supported and promoted by Cetnaj.
This new integration from simPRO and Cetnaj, further automates the process, and in turn, reduces the time spent on manual imports, and reduce mistakes from data entry.
NB: This new integration is being rolled out to all Cetnaj stores over the next few months.
Please check with you local store to see when they will have the automatic synchronisation available.
What else is new in simPRO?
With every release, there are slight improvements in addition to the main features. But they do offer a number of benefits to simPRO users.
You can read the outline of all the enhancements made in the dedicated release notes for 19.3.4 in our Help Guide.
